08/10/2002 Huntley was this evening spending his first night in a proper prison on remand at Woodhill Prison, Milton Keynes after psychiatrists said that Huntley was not suffering from mental illness. At Peterborough Crown Court details of Huntley's mental state was given as "at this point in time Mr Huntely is fit to enter a plea and to stand trial" said Karim Khalil refering to the report written by Dr Clark. The report also said he Huntley was not suffering from any major mental illness, inparticular not suffering from a psychotic illness. This now means Hunley and Carr will now go for trial at Norwich Crown Court which has been deemed large enough to cope with the huge media gathering which is expected together with the city prison being close by. It is expected that during the trial Carr would be housed at Highpoint Prison near Haverhill which has a womans wing within the prison compound.
08/10/2002 Ian Huntley is to appear in court latter today in person at Peterbrough Court, he will travel from Rampton Top Secuity Hospital for the appearence. He will learn if he will stay at the Hospital or go forward for trial. 10/09/2002 Ian Huntley the man charged with Hollie & Jessica's murder appeared today for the first time at Peterbrough Magistrates Court. Police had yesterday put up steal barriers to stop the same type of thing as happened when Maxiine Carr appeared for the first time. Huntely has also had conspiring to pervert the course of justice added to the charge of murder. He has been remanded back to Ramton high security hospital for a further 28 days for doctors to make further tests. The crowd of 400 hundred jeered and thew eggs as the police van holding Huntley entered & left the court. More than a hundred extra police officers were on duty to controll the situation should thing get out of hand. One of the banners held by protestors outside read "IAN HUNTLEY LIFE TAKER NOT CARETAKER" Which I find moving!
03/09/2002 Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells have been laid to rest at separate funerals. The service for Jessica, whose family asked for her body to be cremated, was held yesterday and her best friend Holly was buried today. Police confirmed today that the funerals had taken place but said the families had requested that no information should be revealed about them.
30/8/2002 At Ely Cathedral today over 2000 people gathered to celebrate the lives of the two girls Hollie & Jessica. A quite congregation heard Kevin Wells, Hollies father read three verses of a poem he had written.

22/08/2002 The English FA is have a minutes silence at all matches this weekend as a mark of respect for the two girls. Manchester United's game verses Chelsea at Stamford Bridge will be the first on Friday. New search begins at Huntley's grandmother Lily Gollings house in Lakenheath four mile from where the bodies of the two girls were found.
21/08/2002 Police have now confirmed that the two bodies found are those of the two missing girls Hollie & Jessica. Both sets of parents visited the scene of where the bodies were found. Maxine Carr, 25 in court today was remanded in custody and is now in Hollway Prison London. She has been assessed by Doctors and has been put on suicide alert, which means that officers at the prison have to check on her well being every 15 minutes. The cell Carr is reported to be in is furnished with cardboard furniture to minimize any risk of her trying to take her life. Crowds outside the Court house had plaques saying bring back hanging, eggs thrown at the police van which Maxine Carr traveled to court.
20/08/2002 18.00hrs GMT Ian Huntley 28 has been charged with two counts of murder. He has been tranfered to a secure unit under the Mental Health Act 1983, and will appear at Peterborough Magistrates court tommorrow 21/08/2002. Hunley will also be assesed to see if he needs to be detained for treatment. It is thought Hunley is at Rampton high security hospital, Nottingham. It will be up to Doctors at Rampton as to if Huntley is fit enough to appear in person for the hearing at Perterbrough Magistrates court and only if he is fit enough will he attend. Maxine Carr, 25, has been charged with perverting the course of justice. She too is to appear at Peterborough Magistrates court 21/08/2002 A book of condolence has been set up by the Cambrigdeshire police force for those people who can't sign the one St Andrews Church, Soham. 19/08/2002 2300hrs GMT The post-mortem on the bodies of Holly and Jessica have failed to find out how they died. Five-hours tests proved inconclusive and further tests are needed during the next few weeks. The funerals will not take place until these tests have been completed. Police have been granted another thirty six hour to question the two that they arrested. This is the final extention magistrates can grant for police to question & Maxine Carr 25. Police have until the early hours of Wednesday morning to interview the couple before they must either be charged or released.
19/08/2002 01.30hrs GMT The two bodies found are "almost certain" to be those of the two girls Holly & Jessica police have told the parents. Yesterday evening the two bodies were driven from the track where they were found to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge for more forensic tests. The local community packed the local church yesterday afternoon with over 500 hundred people cramed inside to pray for Holly & Jessica. Local people have been shocked and sickend by this incedent. People last night had started to leave flowers as a mark of respect.
17/08/2002 13.00hrs GMT At about 1215hrs today two men & a woman out walking discovered two bodies. The bodies were discovered close to RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk on the edge of a track near the A1065. Police have yet to confirm the bodies found are those of the two girls Holly & Jessica. The police have said it could take many hours for the indenties to be made known. Both sets of families have been informed.
17/08/2002 08.00hrs GMT Shortly after 08.00hrs GMT today police gave a brief statement announcing that the two people giving witness statements had been arrested about 04.00hrs this morning. Both Ian Huntley (28) and Maxine Carr (25) had been arrested with the murder of the two girls Jessica Chapman & Holly Wells. Huntley was also arrested for the abduction. At about the same time Hunley's father's house in Littleport only a few miles away was under police cordon and being searched by examiners. Although Huntley's father has not been arrested as there is no evidence to suggest he Hunley's father had anything to do with this. Police are not taking any chances though, the house has been photographed not only from the ground but by police helicopter using the lattest equipement.
16/08/2002 1745hrs GMT Police have been questioning a man (28) and woman (25) over the disapearence of the the two girls. Their house is also being searched together with the Soham Village College where both work, the man is a caretaker at the school and the woman is/was a teaching assistant. The two adults are being questioned at different police stations in Cambridgeshire. Both adults agreed to give witness statements to the police and are not under arrest.
16/08/2002 0015hrs GMT The possible abductor of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman has not made contact with Cambridgeshire Police a police source has said. Detective Superintendent David Beck set up the hotline for the person or persons holding the two girls. Details were sent to Jessica's Nokia mobile phone as a text and voice message. News Update. 14/08/2002 17.45hrs GMT The two mounds found yesterday which experts had been conducting fingertip and visual searches overnight turned out not to contain the bodies of the two missing girls. Both setts of parents had been told yesterday to brace themselves for the worst after a jogger who had heard screams from the area on the night they went missing later reported finding the mounds of disturbed earth. The mounds, 30 yrds., apart in an area 300 sq yrds., were found next to a copse about 200 metres from the roadside, police said. The mounds are now thought to have been created by badgers living near-by.
14/08/2002 02.30hrs GMT The parents of the two missing school girls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman both aged 10, who went missing from their homes in Soham, Cambridgeshire on 04th August 2002 must wait until latter today 14/08/2002 to find out if the two small patches of disturbed earth found yesterday hide the bodies of their daughters! Police have sealed off the area so that the Forensic officers can progress. The work is slow so as to preserve any other evidence.
